The new Gemeindehaus (town hall) on the Alte Landstrasse in Thalwil is prim and modern. The same can be said of the ceremony room on the second floor. The room itself is not very big, but sufficiently roomy for the typical wedding party which consists of close relatives and friends. The adjacent car-park is convenient. The only unflattering aspect are the yellow walls, which give every photo a color cast.

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren
Mein Verlobter und ich sind auf der Suche nach einem geeigneten Standesamt für unsere Ziviltrauung und sind daher auf den schönen Raum in Thalwil gestossen. Wir wohnen in Wollishofen und sind deshalb nicht sicher, ob wir ausserhalb von Zürich unsere Trauung feiern können und ob allenfalls weitere Kosten dafür entstehen würden.
